At one time, #TrumanCapote was heralded as one of the country’s most promising young #writers.

The "Headington Shark",

a fibreglass sculpture by John Buckley, a British sculptor,

 appears to crash through the roof of a suburban house in Headington, Oxford.

 The controversial sculpture was commissioned in 1986 by Bill Heine, an American-born radio broadcaster,

and was one of three sculptures in Oxford that he worked on with his friend John Buckley.
친구인 존 버클리와 옥스포드에 해 놓은 세 조각들중 하나
 Bill Heine owned the house until his death at the age of 74 in April 2019.

Here’s what a $45 “hot dog” looks like.

 It’s actually a butter-poached king #crab leg in a buttered brioche bun, topped with caviar, avocado, sour cream mayonnaise, frisée and pickled mustard seeds.

Carol Spencer, 86, may be the most influential fashion designer you’ve never heard of. From 1963 to 1999, she was @Barbie’s fashion designer, making wedding dresses, saris, go-go boots and caftans in miniature.

Like many first graders on their first day of school,
초등학교 1학년 첫날처럼
 Hwang Wol-geum cried.

 has enrolled older villagers and grandmothers like Wol-geum
월금씨처럼 나이있는 마을주민들과 할머니들을 입학시켜왔는데
 who have dreamed of learning to read.
그들은 글자읽는 법을 배우길 꿈꿔왔다고.
 Decades ago,
수십년전
 Korean families often focused on educating their sons
한국가정에선 아들교육에만 집중해왔고
 and many girls were expected to stay home and look after siblings while their parents worked.
딸들은 대부분 부모들이 일하는 동안 집에서 다른 형제자매들 돌보게 했었다.
“I couldn’t believe this was actually happening to me,”

 Wol-geum said about going to school.
